Mrs. Romney, who has multiple sclerosis and survived breast cancer, acknowledged that while she may not have struggled financially as much as others have, she has faced hardships. “I can tell you and promise you that I’ve had struggles in my life. And I would love to have people understand that Mitt and I have compassion for people that are struggling,” she said. “That’s why we’re running.” Go To Site

Obama said that after his two daughters were born, he and his wife—both Harvard Law School graduates—could not afford the “luxury” of having her stay home with the children. In 2005, when Obama began serving in the U.S. Senate (and his daughters turned 4 and 7), he and his wife were earning a combined annual income of $479,062. Barack Obama was paid a salary of $162,100 by the U.S. taxpayers, and Michelle Obama was paid $316,962 to handle community affairs for the University of Chicago Medical Center. Go To Site

I’ve actually lived the life of both struggling at-home mother and struggling working mom, I am inclined to take offense at the notion that a woman who finds her first vocation in child-rearing has surrendered her intellect, and therefore has nothing to say to the room. And make no mistake, that is precisely the sentiment that rests at the heart of Rosen’s remarks — an ugly disdain wholly at odds with the standard feminist rhetoric about the dignity of women and their choices. -Elizabeth Scalia Go To Site

Liberal, Funny, Brilliance, Oops, Press, Smears

As Twitchy reported earlier today, liberals had their knickers in a twist after the lapdog media blew up a story that Ann Romney had used the phrase “you people” when dismissing the fuss over her husband’s tax returns. As it turns out, the Left was foaming at the mouth over a big, fat nothingburger; it seems Mrs. Romney didn’t use “you people” at all. The media ran with a false narrative? Let us show you our shocked face... -Twitchy Media

“But what [Hilary Rosen] meant to say, I think, was that Ann Romney has never gotten her ass out of the house to work.”

Amid a massive backlash from the American public and a stampeding retreat from her supporters, Democratic National Committee advisor Hilary Rosen backtracked from her words about Ann Romney last night on CNN, stating a few moments ago, “As a pundit, I know my words on CNN last night were poorly chosen … I apologize to Ann Romney.” The report of that statement comes from Jim Acosta at CNN.

"But I do want to say this to the GOP. If they think that they're going to try to make Michelle an issue in this campaign, they should be careful. Because that I find unacceptable..." -Barack Obama Go To Site

New Tone alert: Libs attack Ann Romney as ‘cunt,’ ‘bitch,’ ‘whore’

Democratic strategist and DNC adviser Hilary Rosen lobbed an insult at Ann Romney, suggesting that the 64-year-old mother of five and grandmother of 16 had never held a job. “Guess what, his wife has actually never worked a day in her life,” said Rosen, who was being interviewed by CNN’s Anderson Cooper about the “war on women.”

It seemed like a good idea at the time, but now the Democratic National Committee is offering an apology of sorts to Ann Romney. At issue is a DNC video featuring footage of Ann Romney’s dancing show horse. The DNC used the horse in mocking way to attack Mitt Romney for not releasing his tax returns (and dancing around the issue). Ann Romney, who trains with show horses as part of her therapy for multiple sclerosis, took offense in an interview with Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America,” and now the DNC is saying it will put out no more horse videos, and is expressing regret for offending Ann Romney.
