It's the five-alarm dumpster fire that is Team Biden’s response to the chaos in Kabul. You’ve seen the images by now. The Taliban took over the Afghan capital of Kabul in about the time it takes to deliver a pizza, catching the Biden administration utterly off guard. -Joe Concha
President Biden told the world on Monday that he doesn’t regret his decision to withdraw rapidly from Afghanistan, or even the chaotic, incompetent way the withdrawal has been executed.
He is determined in retreat, defiant in surrender, and confident in the rightness of consigning the country to jihadist rule.

This past Sunday saw the American flag brought down from the U.S. embassy in Afghanistan as Taliban soldiers rushed unopposed through Kabul.
This dark, striking image represents President Joe Biden’s unforgivable failure to manage America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, who joined America in the invasion of Afghanistan after the 2001 terror attacks, is blasting President Joe Biden’s bungled exit from the country as “imbecilic” and a boon to both jihadist and Western enemies across the world.

Biden's Disgrace
Americans Abandoned To Terrorist Regime
December 2021
We found out about the 14,000 abandoned Americans almost two months ago, of whom the State Department only shows 900 exfiltrated thus far. We also knew that the US had abandoned tens of thousands of Afghan allies in Joe Biden’s haste to retreat from Afghanistan in August, but we didn’t have an exact count. The Wall Street Journal reported last night that State now estimates that number to be 62,000.

Former acting CIA Director Michael Morell said jihadists were “absolutely inspired” by the Taliban’s victory in the Afghanistan war and the U.S.’s exit from the country.
“I think that the Taliban winning the war in Afghanistan, and then the way our exit happened, has absolutely inspired jihadists all over the world,” Morell told host Margaret Brennan on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
“The Taliban is saying, we just didn't defeat the United States, we defeated NATO. We defeated the world's greatest military power, ever. So there's a celebration going on,” he added.

President Joe Biden waived a mandate in June that would have forced the Pentagon to provide a detailed report to Congress about the risks of leaving Afghanistan.
Under the federal statute, the administration was barred from reducing troops in Afghanistan below 2,000 without first briefing Congress about the expected impact on U.S. counterterrorism operations and the risk to American personnel. Biden waived the mandate in June, arguing that providing this information to Congress could undermine "the national security interests of the United States."

The withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan is an international disaster for Joe Biden of the order of the failed CIA-backed Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in the early 1960s, according to Leon Panetta, the former CIA director and defence secretary during the Obama administration.
“In many ways, I think of John Kennedy and the Bay of Pigs, you know?” Mr Panetta told CNN. “It unfolded quickly and the president thought that everything would be fine and that was not the case. But President Kennedy took responsibility for what took place, and I strongly recommend to President Biden that he take responsibility [and] admit the mistakes that were made...
Regardless of what the Afghanistan exit does for US credibility, the hurried evacuation of US personnel out of Kabul has all but shut down civil transportation out of the country, stranding thousands of Afghans seeking to flee the Taliban.

U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that's prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials...
Since the fall of Kabul in mid-August, nearly 100,000 people have been evacuated, most of whom had to pass through the Taliban's many checkpoints. But the decision to provide specific names to the Taliban, which has a history of brutally murdering Afghans who collaborated with the U.S. and other coalition forces during the conflict, has angered lawmakers and military officials.
“Basically, they just put all those Afghans on a kill list,” said one defense official, who like others spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive topic. “It’s just appalling and shocking and makes you feel unclean.”
Biden "Throwing us and everybody else to the fire"...
"The Biden government have just come in and, without looking at what is happening on the ground, have taken a unilateral decision, throwing us and everybody else to the fire."
Biden's repeated gaffes on Afghanistan have not helped his situation. The president has at times been unable to stick to his resolute messaging, undermining his own policies with factual errors and inaccurate predictions.
It is unclear whether these mistakes are due to faulty or conflicting intelligence reports, routine errors on the finer detail of the war and withdrawal, his own personal proclivity for gaffes, or the prioritization of politics over facts.

A bureau set up by Mike Pompeo under President Trump to help Americans abroad was discontinued after a memo was passed and signed in June by the Biden administration.
The Contingency and Crisis Response Bureau, or CCR, was created during the Trump presidency by former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in October 2020.
It was meant to provide 'aviation, logistics, and medical support capabilities for the Department's operational bureaus, thereby enhancing the secretary's ability to protect American citizens overseas in connection with overseas evacuations in the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster,' according to Fox 11 News.
The decision to discontinue this bureau came in June, before the Taliban took over Afghanistan where 15,000 American citizens and refugees are currently trapped.

The U.K. Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that “the UK faces a desperate race to evacuate 6,000 Britons and eligible Afghans amid scenes of stampeding crowds and Islamist fanatics.”
Because of this, on Wednesday, the British Houses of Parliament decided to hold Biden’s handling of the situation in contempt, with lawmakers condemning his withdrawal plan as “catastrophic” and “shameful,” according to The Telegraph.
Members of parliament from across the political spectrum were forceful in their rebuke of Biden... Other liberal members of parliament, including Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer and Labour MPs Chris Bryant and Khalid Mahmood, denounced the president as well.
“The Biden government have just come in and, without looking at what is happening on the ground, have taken a unilateral decision, throwing us and everybody else to the fire,” Mahmood said.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said Tuesday that a "fair amount" of U.S. weaponry had fallen into the hands of the Taliban since the hard-line Islamic militant group's rapid takeover Afghanistan in recent days.
During a White House press briefing, Sullivan was ask what will happen with the billions of dollars in equipment, including guns, ammunition, helicopters, and more, given to the Afghanistan government in the two decades before its collapse.
"We don't have a complete picture, obviously, of where every article of defense materials has gone," the Biden adviser answered briefly. "But certainly, a fair amount of it has fallen into the hands of the Taliban, and, obviously, we don’t have a sense that they are going to readily hand it over to us at the airport."

You can look at this as a tremendously humiliating — a moment of American humiliation, leaving, forced to leave on the Taliban’s clock and with the Taliban’s good graces.
So, tactically it makes sense but I’m not sure how history — I think history will judge this moment as a very dark period for the United States.

Aug 17, 2021: "There are a lot of people who are falling through the cracks. [The administration] didn’t have a plan to handle this on a mass scale…For the people in Kabul, they’ve basically said it’s up to them to get to the airport."
"... a disengaged, befuddled president who doesn’t care about Americans and their allies in Afghanistan."
From my analysis point of view, if the plan is that you’re going to tell more than 10,000 Americans who are scattered throughout Afghanistan, Kabul and other cities to make it to the airport and trust that the ring of Taliban fighters who surround the airport are suddenly going to get the word from their leaders to let them in and not have any problems, and that’s the White House plan, that’s stunning to me.

Every morning this week at 8:45, a newly established “war room” has convened at the White House, with about 20 staffers logging onto a Zoom call to coordinate messaging and deployment of critical resources.
The operation has nothing to do with the crisis in Afghanistan — it’s about keeping President Biden’s big infrastructure push on track. Even amid the fall of Kabul to the Taliban and the frantic, last-minute military operation to rescue thousands of Americans and vulnerable Afghans, the White House has maintained its overarching focus on the domestic matters it has prioritized for the last eight months.
“The No. 1 priority for our cabinet overall, from our perspective here, is to build support throughout the [August] recess process for the legislative agenda,” said Neera Tanden, a senior advisor to the president who has overseen the war room since July.
Another Shame On This Administration
There’s no way to hide it. The situation in Afghanistan is another shame on this admin. Withdrawal was never going to be easy but it didn’t need to come to this. The US must do everything in its power to help our partners & allies to safety & protect our national security.

Biden also appears to have misunderstood or misrepresented the situation on the ground in Afghanistan. On August 20,
Biden wrongly claimed that the Al-Qaeda militant organization was no longer in the country: "What interest do we have in Afghanistan at this point with Al-Qaeda gone?"
Al-Qaeda is still present in Afghanistan, and the United Nations said in June that the group maintains a strong relationship with the Taliban.

The Taliban are pinning chilling ‘night letters’ to the doors of those they accuse of ‘working for the crusaders’. The notes order their victims to attend a Taliban-convened court. Failure to do so will result in the death penalty.
‘The letter was official and stamped by the Taliban. It is a clear message that they want to kill me. If I attend the court, I will be punished with my life.
If I don’t, they will kill me – that is why I am in hiding, trying to find a way to escape. But I need help.’

After the American military was ordered to occupy the Kabul airport following a blitzkrieg of sorts by the Taliban that toppled the Afghan government, he disappeared for days inside the protected isolation of Camp David or at his home in Delaware, from whence he would appear from time to time to read a set of carefully prepared remarks and then again disappear without taking questions.

The drone strike that the Pentagon claimed killed an ISIS-K suicide bomber in Kabul actually targeted an aid worker who had filled his car with water jugs, rather than explosives, according to a shocking new report.
Zemari Ahmadi, 43, was driving the 1996 Toyota Corolla that was destroyed in the August 29 drone strike, killing him and nine family members, including seven children, according to a New York Times investigation.
The Pentagon still maintains that only three civilians died, despite the family now detailing in the new report how their 10 relatives were killed in the blast.
