An animal rights activist, Camille Marino, has pleaded guilty to trespass and unlawful posting of a message with aggravating circumstances, The Detroit Free Press reported. Marino was arrested in May when she chained herself to the doors of the library at Wayne State University. She had been posting messages online in which she said that a Wayne State researcher who works with animals -- whom she named, listing his home and office addresses and phone numbers -- should be tortured.

Madison -- The state's Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating death threats against the lives of some Republican senators, inlcuding email threats against Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald and Sen. Dan Kapanke. Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a Scottsdale man who posted on Facebook his intention to kill Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Deputies served a search warrant on the Scottsdale home of 42-year-old Ignacio Carbajal Monday night. He allegedly told deputies he wanted to kill the sheriff because of his stance on illegal immigration.

VANCOUVER -- A man was arrested Thursday for threatening to kill a Washington state senate candidate after he received her political mailer, police said. Eileen Qutub is running for senator in Washington's 49th district, covering parts of Vancouver and Clark County. On July 31 she received an email from a man who was unhappy about getting a political advertisement in the mail, according to Sgt. Duncan Hoss of the Clark County Sheriff's Office. "He sent an email to her threatening to kill her in graphic detail and making sexual references," Hoss said. "On August 4 he sent a follow up email, again threatening to kill her if he received further election correspondence from her campaign." Eileen Qutub is a Republican.

Madison - A 26-year-old woman was charged Thursday with two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts for allegedly making email threats against Wisconsin lawmakers during the height of the battle over Gov. Scott Walker's budget-repair bill. Katherine R. Windels of Cross Plains was named in a criminal complaint filed in Dane County Criminal Court. According to the criminal complaint, Windels allegedly sent an email threat to State Sen. Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) March 9. Later that evening, she allegedly sent another email to 15 Republican legislators, including Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau).
