Gruber, an MIT economics professor, was videotaped saying the “stupidity of the American voter” was key to getting the Obamacare reform passed. His comments sparked outrage and a congressional hearing. 
A third controversial video of Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber has surfaced. In this video, taken at a colloquium in 2012 at the University of Rhode Island, Gruber admits that he and fellow Obamacare proponents "exploited" American voters when they passed the controversial law.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday that, not only did Jonathan Gruber not play a significant role in drafting Obamacare, but that she doesn't even "know who he is."
Obama said Gruber was "some adviser who never worked on our staff."... By HHS’ own documentation, Gruber was considered "uniquely positioned" for a contract job assisting with Obama’s health care reform efforts. In that sense, he was a very important adviser... Further, while Gruber never worked "on our staff," he was paid by the federal government quite handsomely, and worked very closely with the staff.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi took it even further, saying when she was asked about Gruber: "I don't know him. He didn't help write our bill." Actually Gruber did help write the bill, he was a paid adviser to the Obama White House.
And hopefully Sarah Kliff can explain why she went from describing Jonathan Gruber as the guy “who pretty much wrote Obamacare” to just some dude with a grant.

She’s denied ever hearing about Mr. Gruber, but her website and a previous press conference suggest she’s not telling the truth. “I don’t know who he is. He didn’t help write our bill,” Mrs. Pelosi said, according to The Washington Post. But as Mediate reported, Mrs. Pelosi’s website in December 2009 featured a lengthy blog post citing Mr. Gruber’s analysis of Obamacare in an effort to dispel “myths” about the bill.
Universities that hosted Jonathan Gruber are now removing videos of the MIT professor from their websites after a series of candid admissions from the Obamacare architect ignited a firestorm against the health-care law.

Gruber received $400,000 worth of contracts from the Department of Health and Human Services and his work on the Affordable Care Act was regularly touted on the White House website.

President Barack Obama made a major political mistake by lying about the details of his health care plan, according to former House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.). "The rollout was so bad, and I was appalled -- I don't understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis," Frank told HuffPost during a July interview.

On Sunday, appearing on ABC’s This Week with fill-in host Martha Raddatz, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) admitted that Democrats knew full well that Americans would be booted from their health insurance plans as an effect of Obamacare implementation. When asked whether Democrats were misled by President Obama about whether Americans would be able to keep their plans in the individual insurance market, Gillibrand answered: “He should’ve just been specific. No, we all knew.”
