The New York Times announced Monday it hired left-wing writer Sarah Jeong, who has a long history of racist tweets, to be the lead technology writer for the newspaper’s editorial board.
Jeong repeatedly posted racist statements via her Twitter account.

The Jeong hiring and Weiss reaction tell you a great deal about where the NYT and progressivism are and where they’re headed.
They don’t care a great deal whether progressives dabble in racism, misogyny, homophobia, anti-Semitism, anti-Catholicism, or general antipathy toward Christians, so long as it advances the progressive agenda of the moment.

The New York Times and most of the Left refuses to admit that they have institutionalized a new racial double standard in the United States.
It is now acceptable to insult and denigrate white people as a whole in a way that even a decade ago was viewed as entirely unacceptable.

Contrary to Jeong’s assertion, the dictionary publisher Merriam-Webster defines racism as “a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.”
“#CancelWhitePeople” she demanded in one tweet.
“White people have stopped breeding,” she wrote in another. “You’ll all go extinct soon. This was my plan all along.”

A powerless person’s hate may not harm the powerful, but it is still hate. A powerless person’s hate may even be grounded in specific experiences, but it is still hate.
The essence of bigotry is to look at the color of a person’s skin and, on that basis alone, make malignant judgments about his character or worth...
The problem with anti-white racism is that it runs directly counter to efforts to unify in spite of that history. It runs counter to efforts to elevate American culture.
