NBC News and sister cable network MSNBC rank at the bottom of media outlets Americans trust most for news, with Fox News leading the way, according to a new poll from the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling. In its fifth trust poll, 35 percent said they trusted Fox news more than any other outlet, followed by PBS at 14 percent, ABC at 11 percent, CNN at 10 percent, CBS at 9 percent, 6 percent for MSNBC and Comedy Central, and just 3 percent for NBC. -Paul Bedard
But in the coming years, Fox will no longer be the center of Media Matters’ universe. That’s because the group believes it has effectively discredited the network’s desire to be seen as “fair and balanced.” “The war on Fox is over,” said Media Matters Executive Vice President Angelo Carusone. “And it’s not just that it’s over, but it was very successful. To a large extent, we won.”
The news about the President's signature legislative accomplishment continues to get worse. A new poll by YouGov finds that more people trust Fox News for information about the so-called "Affordable Care Act" than trust President Obama. -Noel Sheppard

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent a letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski on Tuesday, arguing that U.S. law states that broadcast airwaves shall only be licensed to people of "good character" and used "in the public interest." Dear Mr. Olbermann,
We are deeply dismayed by your ongoing use of the Nazi "Sieg Heil" salute, both on your program and in public appearances -- including the recent Television Critics Association press tour -- while holding up a mask of Fox News commentator Bill O'Reilly. -Excepted from The Anti-Defamation League letter

"Fox News Channel will never restrain itself from incitement to murder and terrorism – not until its profits begin to decline, when its growth stops."
So while blaming Fox we have to admit that the Fox News channel's success is rooted in Fox's intuitive recognition of the inherent aggressiveness of the American political culture, an aggressiveness that is itself anchored in a public that's fearful of change and hostile to opposing viewpoints. - John Doyle, The Globe and Mail

A Pew poll found that in the week leading up to the 2012 election, MSNBC did not air a single story critical of the President or a single positive story about Romney - not a single one - even as Fox aired a few negative ones about Romney and a few positive ones about Obama. -Glenn Greenwald
Political donations by News Corp., its employees and their families were evenly split between Democrats and Republicans, with President Obama the all-time leading recipient, according to a report from the Sunlight Foundation.
