In 2015, President Obama told America he only learned that his secretary of state Hillary Clinton was illegally using a private email server to conduct public business after The New York Times published a story saying so.

Today’s release of a Department of Justice inspector general report shows that was a lie.

Most intriguing, however, is the revelation that Hillary was communicating with President Obama via personal email, and he was using an alias... What is odd, however, is the fact that Obama previously told the media that he only learned of Hillary’s irregular email and server arrangements from “news reports.”

Obama in 2015 had publicly, falsely denied knowing about the private email address, saying he only learned of its use for official business “The same time everybody else learned it through news reports.”

We now know this was a lie.

The White House was apparently aware that Hillary Clinton was using a private email account because her staff said so. When Clinton changed her “primary email address,” the White House was informed so that Clinton could still send emails directly to President Obama, Clinton aide Huma Abedin told the FBI during its investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server.

Obama could only receive emails from designated accounts, and Clinton’s was one of them, Abedin said. Accounts that weren’t authorized would be rejected by the White House server.

Barack Obama Knowingly Sent Email to clintonemail.com...

"FBI analysts and Prosecutor 2 told us that former President Barack Obama was one of the 13 individuals with whom Clinton had direct contact using her clintonemail.com account.

"Obama, like other high level government officials, used a pseudonym for his username on his official government email account."

President Barack Obama used a pseudonym in email communications with Hillary Clinton and others, according to FBI records made public Friday.

The disclosure came as the FBI released its second batch of documents from its investigation into Clinton’s private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. In an April 5, 2016 interview with the FBI, Abedin was shown an email exchange between Clinton and Obama, but the longtime Clinton aide did not recognize the name of the sender.

"Once informed that the sender's name is believed to be a pseudonym used by the president, Abedin exclaimed: 'How is this not classified?'" the report says.

Hillary Clinton email exchange with the President ...

"She also used her personal email extensively while outside the United States, including from the territory of sophisticated adversaries.

"That use included an email exchange with the President while Secretary Clinton was on [sic] the territory of such an adversary."

One aspect of the Inspector Generals’ report on the FBI handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation has been a bit overshadowed by the media.

The fact that President Barack Obama lied to the American people when he claimed he only learned of Hillary Clinton’s use of an unauthorized, non-secure, non-governmental email server while she was Secretary of State.
