Faculty members at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are bullying one another more than what was expected by researchers who surveyed them on campus life, a new report reveals.
More than 35 percent of faculty reported personally experiencing “hostile and intimidating” behavior over the past three years, according to a report on the 2016 Study of Faculty Worklife at UW-Madison, released March 30. “The measure of incidence of hostile and intimidating behavior is rather surprising,” wrote the authors of the report.

Bahar Mustafa, the university union's welfare and diversity officer, caught the media's attention after telling white people and men not to come to an event about diversifying the curriculum.
"The current welfare and diversity officer has used hate speech based on race and gender," the union petition, which closes on May 26, reads. "For example, the consistent use of hashtags such as #killallwhitemen and #misandry, and publicly calling someone 'white trash' under the official GSU Welfare and Diversity Officer Twitter account."

A student-sponsored event at Cornell University (CU) claimed capitalism and white supremacy are “institutions that promote rape culture” and “must be destroyed.” The event, which recognized a “National Day of Protest Against Rape Culture” late last month, took place in CU’s William Straight Hall. Having been threatened with “physical action” by an unknown number of anonymous students if it did not respond to a list of more than 120 demands, the Dartmouth administration promptly surrendered last week and is planning on spending at least $31 million to satisfy the students’ will. The initial student letter called for greater diversity in the faculty and post-doctoral program as well as an increase in enrollment for Black, Latino, and Native American students to 10 percent of the student population each. The anonymous students also demanded that all students be required to take classes on “social justice” and “marginalization,” that gender-neutral housing be available for all students, and that restrictions on the use of the term “illegal immigrants” be imposed.

The Princeton University professor accused of stealing 21 lawn signs for a local computer business was recorded on multiple occasions taking the signs, the business owner said today. Ted Horodynsky, owner of Princeton Computer Repairs, Tutoring and Digital Services, said he noticed his 2-by-2-foot signs, worth more than $20 each, disappearing from private property locations in August and filed several police reports.

Northwestern University admitted Friday that it took disciplinary action against a professor accused of sexually harassing a female student, after finding that he did indeed violate the University's sexual harassment policy. At a sleepover at DeCamp's home for his son's 12th birthday May 18, DeCamp flaunted a gun in front of his son and 10 of his son's friends. The justices did not comment Monday in refusing to review a Colorado Supreme Court ruling in favor of the university. Churchill faced condemnation and calls for his dismissal over an essay describing some victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks as "little Eichmanns," a reference to Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi leader who helped orchestrate the Holocaust.

A Boston University professor has been placed on 18 months of probation after admitting to being involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend and two restraining order violations involving his ex-wife. Pedro Lasarte, a Romance languages professor who has taught at the university for 25 years, has “learned from his mistakes,” said his defense attorney, Ryan Caselden. A judge ordered Lasarte to stop drinking, to submit to drug and alcohol screenings, and to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. If Lasarte stays trouble-free during the probation, the case will be dismissed.

Warren represented LTV Steel in 1995, when she was a Harvard Law professor, aiding the bankrupt company’s bid to overturn a court ruling forcing it to pay its former employees and dependents $140 million in retirement benefits. This study is troubling for a variety of reasons, and provides a unique glimpse into the mind of the average college professor. The first cause for concern is the open way in which professors said they would discriminate against a conservative colleague. If a professor admitted they would openly discriminate against a colleague who was a certain religion/ethnicity, they would be fired and black listed from academe. On the other hand, discriminating against someone with a different world view is seen as socially acceptable in the modern university.
The story of Kathy Boudin’s crimes and her victims is bloody and ugly. Many details get left out or smoothed over, even by her critics. There’s a wider importance to Boudin’s story: it’s yet another example of how the left uses America’s most respected universities as both a breeding ground and a retirement home for radicals; a way to give violent ideologically driven criminals both legitimacy and a paycheck, often at taxpayers' expense. A Boston College assistant professor faces charges in Canada after he allegedly threatened to bomb ore mines during a geological research trip with five students to remote Labrador earlier this month, officials said. Dominic Papineau, 35, has been suspended by the university pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings against him in Canada, BC spokesman Jack Dunn said. In addition to threatening to damage property, Papineau also faces charges of possessing a hunting rifle without proper permits and possessing a “small quantity” of marijuana, Quebec authorities said... He said Papineau was among a group protesting a government-led project called Plan Nord, which calls for investing $80 billion of public and private funds to develop the area over the next 25 years.

An Indiana University teacher says he was arrested last week after telling Red Cross bloodmobile employees that they were in violation of the school's nondiscrimination policy for prohibiting donations of blood from gay men. Indian reporters and activists want answers from Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren, who has given muddled replies about whether she used unsupported claims of Cherokee ancestry to further her academic career at Harvard... This week, Indian reporters say they were snubbed by Warren’s campaign as they sought clarification on why Ms. Warren was listed as a minority Native faculty by Harvard in the 1990s, even though she has no evidence to back that claim and apparently never sought out other Native Americans on campus.
Bewildered, and at times angry, faculty members at Harvard criticized the university on Sunday after revelations that administrators secretly searched the e-mail accounts of 16 resident deans in an effort to learn who leaked information about a student cheating scandal to the news media.

Francois Sainfort pleaded guilty to a felony charge of false statement and writing for a February 2008 email to a Georgia Institute of Technology administrator, in which he falsely stated neither he nor his wife had signed employment agreements at the University. A Georgia judge sentenced Sainfort to five years of probation and $43,578 in restitution to Georgia Tech.

"There's a lot of people who got hurt as a result of his actions which could have easily been avoided," the student said.
