Calling herself a "tough cookie," Love said she would do everything she can to protect herself and her family. Hicken said police might increase patrols around Love's house as they would for any resident who receives threats. Love said she believes she's a target because she poses a problem to the policies of the Obama administration. She said the threats are meant to divert her from the issues in the race.

A secret recording of a campaign strategy session between U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell and his advisors was taped by leaders of the Progress Kentucky super PAC, says a longtime local Democratic operative. Mother Jones Magazine released the tape this week. The meeting itself took place on Feb. 2... Before the recording was released, Progress Kentucky ran afoul of the McConnell campaign for another incident. On the PAC's Twitter account, a volunteer criticized McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao, and her ethnicity, saying the Taiwanese-American former Secretary of Labor was complicit in moving jobs to China.

During the rally several of the pro-union protesters took turns harassing a gay black conservative tea partyer who was participating in the counter-rally. The SEIU supporters called him stupid, uneducated. They called him “son.” They harassed him. They asked him how he could vote against “his own best interest.”
In this clip the SEIU supporters asked the black tea partyer,
“Do you have any children that you claim?”

In the immortal words of Megatron in Transformers: The Movie, Herman Cain’s speech at CPAC really is bad comedy. As you know, I find black garbage pail kids black conservatives fascinating not because of what they believe, but rather because of how they entertain and perform for their White Conservative masters. -Chauncey DeVega
WASHINGTON - A national political committee charged with promoting Democratic candidates for Senate removed a link from its Web site yesterday after prodding from Republicans who said the linked site contained racist portrayals of a black lieutenant governor of Maryland who will run for Senate next year.

He asks people at the rally what “we” should do after impeaching Clarence Thomas to get justice for Anita Hill, and he gets some mighty interesting answers: Send him “back to the fields.” “String him up.” “Hang him.” “Torture.” One older woman wants his wife Ginny Thomas strung up as well. A younger and more creative woman wants Justice Thomas’ toes chopped off and forced-fed to him. Thomas isn’t the only one to get the necktie treatment; one protester wants Fox News executive Roger Ailes to get hung as well.

Nose ring 2: I dunno, 'cause I'm all about peace, but I would say torture.

She admitted that her assumption that this black man has children he doesn’t support was racist, but said “What I said is racist, but I am not a racist.” Later, I asked Mr. Robinson if he’d ever encountered this type of incivility in Colorado before. “Yes, as a black Republican, absolutely. These people don’t even realize that Martin Luther King was a Republican too. That’s why I was standing there on that step, while the rest of the tea partiers were down on the street."
Mr. Steele voiced support for affirmative action and the war in Iraq. He also expressed offense that black Democrats would accept branding him an "Oreo cookie" or an "Uncle Tom" because his campaign for the U.S. Senate espouses a message of personal responsibility and individual empowerment.

“Herman Cain is probably well-liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican Party, conservative movement and tea party movement,” Garofalo said. “People like Karl Rove like to keep the racism very covert and so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity so he can say, ‘Look: This is not a racist anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look: We have a black man.’ And look he’s polling well and he won a straw poll.” In August, Garofalo said he was just a “paid prop” used to deflect racism.
