NPR took heat Tuesday after its report that Asian American Michelle Wu’s, D., election win in Boston was considered a "disappointment" to some for being chosen over Black candidates.
"Michelle Wu, an Asian American, is the first woman and first person of color elected to lead the city. While many are hailing it as a turning point, others see it as more of a disappointment that the three Black candidates couldn't even come close," NPR tweeted.

Anti-Asian violence in New York right now is more than random street-corner sucker punches and terrifying subway shoves. It’s also the deliberate disassembly of meritocratic public education under the guise of ethnic equity...
Not to diminish the thuggery, the most serious threat to Asian-American New Yorkers is the Department of Education’s ill-disguised effort to eliminate merit-test-based admission to the city’s eight highly selective high schools...
The new numbers came out last week, and they are beyond harsh: Asians won 54 percent of this year’s freshman class seats; whites, 28 percent; Hispanics, 5 percent and African-Americans, 4 percent.
Whereupon Schools Chancellor Meisha Ross Porter demanded an end to test-based admissions — because “It’s far past time for our students to be fairly represented.”

The success of Asian-Americans is a severe embarrassment to the race industry. Race hustlers focus on “gaps” between whites and blacks with regard to income and educational attainment, which they attribute to “systemic” racism. But what about the gaps between Asian-Americans and whites?

The University of Maryland recently landed in hot water for separating its Asian students from students of color in a presentation about SAT scores and grade point averages of the incoming freshmen class.
Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Chris Rufo posted an image last month of a presentation reportedly delivered by university president Darryll Pines, which separated the average scores and GPAs into two categories: “students of color, minus Asians” and “white or Asian students.”...
A study published by Princeton University researchers in 2004 found that the preference given to Black applicants in college admissions was “roughly equivalent” to 230 SAT points. Hispanic applicants were given a boost similar to 185 SAT points, and Asians were disadvantaged by 60 points.
Similarly, a study released January 2021 by the Center for Equal Opportunity found anti-Asian bias in the admissions processes at major public universities dating back to the mid-2000s.

Asians Use "White Supremacist Thinking" To Get Ahead
The vice president of the San Francisco Board of Education once wrote a long Twitter thread accusing Asian Americans of using "white supremacist thinking to assimilate and 'get ahead,'" and comparing them to a "house n****r" (she added the asterisks and did not spell out the word).

The vice president of the board of the San Francisco Unified School District refused to resign this weekend despite facing criticism for a series of anti-Asian tweets.
San Francisco mayor London Breed (D.) and other officials called on school board vice president Alison Collins to resign this weekend after 2016 tweets surfaced in which she called Asian Americans "house n*****s" who "use white supremacist thinking to assimilate and ‘get ahead.'"

A city DOE-sponsored panel designed to combat racism told parents that Asian American students “benefit from white supremacy” and “proximity to white privilege,” an outraged mom told The Post.
The comments drew backlash from some parents and Asian activists, but not the Department of Education, which neither denied nor denounced them.

Senate Democrats voted against an amendment Thursday to prohibit federal funds for colleges that discriminate against Asian Americans. Amendment SA 1456 was proposed by Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as an addition to the “COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act,” proposed by Democratic Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono.
Cruz’s amendment sought to prohibit federal funds for higher education institutions that discriminate against Asian Americans. The amendment states that no school may receive federal funding if the institution has “a policy in place or engages in a practice that discriminates against Asian Americans in recruitment, applicant review, or admissions,” according to the amendment text.
Every Senate Democrat voted against Cruz’s amendment, which failed to pass at a vote of 49-48.

Celebrating his victory in the Democratic primary on Tuesday night, Barry spoke up about the prominence of businesses owned by Asians in the District. “We got to do something about these Asians coming in and opening up businesses and dirty shops,” Barry said in remarks first reported by WRC-TV. “They ought to go. I’m going to say that right now. But we need African-American businesspeople to be able to take their places, too.”
