Boston Pride, the organization that has organized the city’s Pride celebrations for 50 years, has announced it is shutting down.
The dissolution, announced Friday afternoon in a statement on the group’s website, comes after the reportedly all-white board of directors has faced ongoing accusations of ignoring racial minorities and transgender people.
An Austin congressional candidate said she was assaulted on Sunday by a member of a self-described Maoist group that calls for boycotting elections and for “revolutionary change.”
Heidi Sloan, running for the Democratic nomination for the 25th Congressional District, which includes parts of Austin and western Travis County, wrote on Facebook that a member of a group called the Red Guards Austin shoved her and smashed eggs filled with red paint on her head and on her car after a political canvassing effort in East Austin.
Callout culture. The quest for purity. Privilege theory taken to extremes. I’ve observed some of these questionable patterns in my activist communities over the past several years.

Antifa protesters in Boston accidentally turned on one another over the weekend, when one protester attacked a man simply because he looked like he could be a Nazi...
The Boston protester was hardly the first to be mistakenly identified as a member of the alt-right. An innocent Arkansas engineer was falsely accused of being a Nazi following the Charlottesville, Va. rally earlier this month and became a target of doxxing and online harassment.
Earlier in the year, a University of California, Berkeley student wrote in the New York Times that they witnessed a left-wing protester attacking a man in a suit, assuming he was a supporter of alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos. In reality, the victim was a Syrian Muslim.

Groundbreaking for the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago will be delayed until next year because of a delay in the federal review process.
Construction on former President Barack Obama’s center was to start this year. However, the Obama Foundation says it now plans to break ground for the half-billion-dollar project sometime in 2019.
Before the presidential center can be built, the federal government will review its impact on Jackson Park. The park on the city’s South Side is on the National Register of Historic Places. The project’s environmental effects will also be analyzed. Any adverse effects must be resolved before construction is allowed.

Left-wing writers are taking the victim narrative to a new level this week, decrying “straight black men” as the “white people of black people.”
In a column for The Root's “Very Smart Brothas,” writer Damon Young accused straight black men of having the “type of privilege created for and protected by whiteness.” Black men, while victims of the white man's oppressiveness, are the oppressors of the nonheterosexual/male black person.

Secretly recorded audio of Clinton speaking at a private, February fundraiser was released late Friday night. In it, Clinton can be heard referring to Sanders’ “lost generation”, as she called them.
“Some are new to politics completely. They’re children of the Great Recession. And they are living in their parents’ basement,” she told her audience.
There has been much animosity between these groups with the radicals accusing the liberals of being half-measure sell-outs and the liberals accusing the radicals of being delusional Utopians.

Jared Beck, a Harvard Law graduate and one of the several attorneys who filed the suit against the DNC and its former chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz, wants retribution for donations made by supporters to the Vermont senator's campaign, citing six legal claims of the DNC’s deceptive conduct, negligent misrepresentation and fraud. The DNC violated Article 5, Section 4 of its own charter by working with a single campaign to effectively choose who would win the Democratic ballot, the attorneys stated in the suit.

Parkasa, a hard-line Muslim group in Malaysia that touts around 700,000 members, is joining another Muslim group in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah, in calling for the boycott of Starbucks.
Almost 30 million people belong to Muhammadiyah, the second-largest mainstream Muslim organization in Indonesia. They have denounced the popular coffee chain over the company’s former chief executive’s past praise for the gay community. Both organizations want Starbucks’ operating license to be revoked because the stance goes against Islamic teachings.
