A hospital spokesman told the Central European News, “The baby had only been outside for a few hours and thanks to Masha he was not damaged by the experience.”

In 2013, a family dog in Thailand rescued an abandoned newborn baby girl. The pet named Pui found a plastic bag with a newborn baby girl inside and carried the infant back home. Authorities believe that the baby was abandoned at a roadside dump in Tha Rua district of Ayutthaya province.

  Photos show the dog gently carrying the baby in its mouth away from the dump and to the nearest house in the city of Campinas, Brazil. According to the blog, the residents of the house immediately took the baby to the nearest hospital. Doctors said the baby boy is doing well. The dog, who is being called “an angel sent from the heavens,” left the baby unharmed, according to the report.

A keen-eared German Shepherd has been credited with saving a newborn’s life after the infant was abandoned in a park in Birmingham, England. According to the Birmingham Mail, Roger Wilday, a 68-year-old grandfather, had been walking his 9-year-old German Shepherd, Jade, last week when the dog suddenly sprinted toward some bushes. Jade is said to have laid down next to what appeared to be a discarded carrier bag and refused to return to her owner’s side. As Wilday approached his dog, he realized that the carrier wasn’t empty.

  “I walked over and saw a carrier bag — then I saw it move,” Wilday told the Birmingham Mail. “I thought it was a bag of kittens, but then I saw her little arms and a head, and the baby started to cry.”
