In 2002, an Arizona State University student was charged on suspicion of faking anti-Muslim hate crimes because he was upset Muslims were being treated unfairly after the Sept. 11 attacks. He now faces trial for the charge of reporting a false crime and one year in jail if convicted.
Earlier today Breitbart London reported that a hit and run on a Muslim women in Molenbeek this weekend, blamed on ‘far right’ anti-Islam demonstrators, was in fact perpetrated by an allegedly drunk local youth named “Mohamed”.
The incident has been seized upon by “anti-Islamophobia” campaigners, many of whom have since failed to correct their original assertions, claiming that the attack was perpetrated by “far right” activists. -Breitbart London
“Based upon the investigation, it is our belief that Hussain was trying to gain sympathy by becoming a victim of anti-Muslim threats which he had created himself,” Indiana State University Police Chief Joseph Newport said Friday.
“It is extremely unfortunate that this situation caused undue concern on other members of the ISU community.”

The Muslim teen who claimed three drunks taunted her as a “terrorist” on a Manhattan subway train now admits she lied to cops — who arrested her on Wednesday.
Yasmin Seweid, 18, is charged with obstructing governmental administration and filing a false report, according to a high-ranking police source.
Both charges are misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail.
Seweid, who lives in Nassau County, had claimed the hateful drunks shouted, “Trump! Trump!” and called her a “terrorist” as they tried to steal her headscarf. “Go back to your country!” she said they shouted during the supposed Dec. 1 attack.
But when cops tried to confirm her story by checking surveillance video, they determined that her story didn’t add up.

A server at a steakhouse in Texas made up the viral story about a customer leaving him a racist note on a receipt, restaurant management announced late Monday afternoon.
Khalil Cavil posted on Facebook last week that a customer at Saltgrass Steak House in Odessa, Texas, wrote zero in for his tip and put a note at the top of their receipt that said, "We don't tip Terrorist." His story quickly gained international attention and the restaurant's corporate office said it had banned the customer responsible.
Now they say they've learned the whole thing was made up. “After further investigation, we have learned that our employee fabricated the entire story," Terry Turney, COO of Saltgrass Steak House, said in a statement.

The poster, which claims to be from YAF, also promotes what it calls "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" in mid-October.

Police found no evidence to confirm a November report that a teacher bullied and assaulted a Muslim kindergartener at David Cox Road Elementary, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reported Friday. Principal Celeste Spears-Ellis notified parents that the accused teacher has returned to the classroom after the District Attorney’s Office found “no evidence of an assault other than the complainant’s report” and no grounds for criminal charges.
The incident made national news in November when the Council on American-Islamic Rights wrote to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction alleging that the teacher “continuously harassed and recently assaulted” a 5-year-old boy in her class. The letter, dated Nov. 21, said the teacher had grabbed the boy by the neck and choked him on Nov. 16.

It took a while, but after police disproved a claim about a post-election, anti-Muslim “hate crime” against a San Diego State University student... the female student had claimed that on the day after the election, she was approached by two men in a parking garage stairwell who invoked the name of the president-elect “before attacking [her] and stealing her car.”
“They were saying things like, ‘Now that Trump is president get ready to start fleeing.’ They proceeded to push her around and she wrestled with them,” a friend of the student said. But, as NBC San Diego reports, her car wasn’t stolen — she had forgotten where she parked.

MARIETTA, Ga. Fire investigators believe they know who set fire to a Marietta mosque earlier this week. Authorities have charged Tamsir Lucien Mendy, 26, with arson. Investigators said Mendy is a member of the congregation... “Given the recent wave of incidents targeting American mosques, a possible bias motive for this apparent arson attack must be considered,” said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. “Unfortunately, there is a vocal minority in our society promoting anti-Muslim bigotry, and that minority is experiencing little or no pushback from mainstream religious and political leaders.”

The morning of the fire, the store manager told investigators he feared the fire had been set in retaliation for attacks on Americans in the Middle East. He claimed that the month before, two white men came to the store and became upset when they learned he had been born in Pakistan. They left the store angry. That was the story. On August 19, however, the police arrested Akram in his store on a federal arson warrant. He stands accused of setting fire to the store to collect insurance on the building and its contents. U.S. attorneys explained in court that mounting financial losses led Akram to stage an arson and then make it look like a hate crime... Immediately on July 10, CAIR rushed a press release out the door, “Arsonist Torches Muslim Store in Washington,” calling on “local and national leaders to address the issue of growing Islamophobic prejudice following an arson attack on a Muslim-owned business in Washington State.”
