There is so much money in terrifying the American people. And in this way - today I'm going to tell you, I think they're all terrorists. I think Glenn Beck is a terrorist. I think Alex Jones is a terrorist. I think Rush Limbaugh is a terrorist. I think Sean Hannity is a terrorist. I think Michelle Bachmann is a terrorist. I think Peter King is a terrorist. -Randi Rhodes
Republicans were outraged and Democrats were on the defensive yesterday over comments by Rep. Cynthia A. McKinney suggesting that the Bush administration knew of impending terrorist attacks before September 11 but did not stop them.

A Harvard University professor called the National Rifle Association a “domestic terrorist organization” Tuesday morning, adding that “Congress must act” on gun control.
“We have to have the courage to call the NRA exactly what it has become—a domestic terrorist organization that places profit above the lives of the American people,” Dr. Jonathan Walton declared during Morning Prayers, according to a blog post by The Memorial Church at Harvard.
Anticipating that “gun rights defenders will accuse me of politicizing this tragedy,” he proceeds to substantiate the accusation, speculating that mass murder “is what the NRA, weapons makers, and all who financially profit from this country's pain desire” because “weapons sales increase and gun stocks rise following each mass shooting.”

A California professor is facing a backlash over a social media rant in which he calls Sen. John McCain, who is battling a brain tumor, a “war criminal.” KGTV reports that those who have criticized San Diego State University professor Jonathan Graubart for his comments include students enrolled at the college...
“McCain is a war criminal and, more to the point, someone who as a politician has championed horrifying actions and been lousy on state commitment to public health," the professor said.
"There is no rational alternative"...
"There is no rational alternative. The GOP and NRA must, in fact, want mass shootings. It serves their interests."

Liberal New York Times columnist Paul Krugman suggested Friday that President-elect Donald Trump could have an incentive to allow or launch a 9/11-style attack on the United States once in office. Krugman wrote that President George W. Bush came into office with questions surrounding his legitimacy that were “dispelled” by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Krugman surmised that gave Trump “interesting incentives.”

Delaware State University professor Cyril Broderick, who teaches agriculture, wrote a letter to a Liberian newspaper alleging the U.S. military and pharmaceutical companies created Ebola and are intentionally spreading the deadly disease in Africa. “The U. S., Canada, France, and the U. K. are all implicated in the detestable and devilish deeds that these Ebola tests are,” writes Broderick in the letter The Washington Post calls ‘semi-intelligible.’

As predictable as the timing of the tides, a left wing think tank blames global warming for the recent tornadoes. But I must admit, Think Progress cut to the chase to save time when future weather events occur. As part of an interview published in Playboy magazine's October issue, Olbermann actually said, "Fox News is worse than Al Qaeda."
If we really scrape the bottom of the barrel of liberal talk radio, there’s Mike Malloy, who used to write news scripts for CNN. On January 23, he called Rush the "pig man" and announced "I hope that I'm alive when he dies. He is so morbidly overweight. He smokes. He eats his Viagra and goes down to the Dominican Republic to bugger little boys. I just hope that I'm around when he croaks."

Jane Fonda has blamed Saturday's tragic shooting spree in Tucson, Arizona, on former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, conservative talk show host Glenn Beck, and the Tea Party movement.
“Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled,” Fuller ranted on, “senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all, even 9-year-old girls.”
Amid the partisan recriminations after the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), one accusation from Democrats and liberals stood out: it’s Sarah Palin’s fault.

Fake heroes like Bernie Kerik, Rudy Giuliani, and, yes, George W. Bush raced to cash in on the horror. And then the attack was used to justify an unrelated war the neocons wanted to fight, for all the wrong reasons.
