A kindergarten teacher in Ankeny, Iowa, faces public intoxication and child endangerment charges after cops say they caught her pounding beers at school, according to the Des Moines Register. Jennifer Rich, 40, resigned from East Elementary School on Monday following the bizarre incident. She'd been with the district since 2001.

A Suffolk woman arrested for distribution of heroin reportedly spent two months as an elementary school teacher while facing charges. A grand jury indicted Elizabeth Ferguson in September on two counts of distribution of heroin stemming back to a December 2013 incident, according to online court records.

Monica Quintero, 31, a first-grade teacher at Ridge Creek Elementary in the Humble Independent School District, was arrested on Tuesday after the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable's Office raided her apartment on Valley Ranch Crossing Drive.

Marietta Middle School teacher's aide and coach, Benjamin Mayer, was arrested Monday after deputies say he sold drugs to a confidential informant. Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says five Xanax pills were sold at Mayer's Tennis Center Drive apartment.

A Monroe County teacher was arrested on Thursday for drug possession charges. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Emily Pennington was pulled over for going 25 miles over the speed limit in a school zone, as well as a suspicion of DUI... After questioning, Pennington removed two hypodermic needles from her waist area and placed them on the hood of the cop car. She admitted to police that she used the needles prior to the traffic stop to ingest Opana pills.

Three times, officials say, an undercover sheriff's deputy bought drugs from Joye Jones, a physical education teacher at Lewis Elementary School. The first buy, at 12:15 p.m. on Aug. 26, was in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant 1.8 miles from the Temple Terrace school. Jones allegedly sold the deputy 45 hydrocodone pills for $1,000.

A high school teacher in Texas who was arrested at school was reportedly found with recipes for date rape drug cocktails... Her arrest came after deputies executed a search warrant at her Woodlands apartment. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, deputies found more recipes, methamphetamine, marijuana, numerous prescription medications and Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate, a compound used in date rape drugs.

State Police said a woman faces charges after they discovered she was growing marijuana and allowing her juvenile son to use the drug. Mary L. Messer, 47, was arrested on charges of child neglect creating the risk of injury, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and conspiracy to commit a felony, according to a news release from State Police. The school directory on West Virginia Department of Education's website lists Messer as a special education teacher at Scott High School.

An Everett Meredith Middle School teacher was arrested last Friday in Dover and is now facing drug possession and theft charges, according to the Dover Police Department. David Grant Foulk, 53, of Smyrna, is a technology and career education teacher who has taught sixth and eighth graders in the Appoquinimink School District.

A special education teacher at South Harrison High School has been arrested on felony drug charges. Kimberly Jo Pratt, 32, of Fairmont was apprehended by the Harrison County Street Crimes and Drug Unit on Wednesday and is charged with possession of Hydrocodone pills with intent to distribute.

A seventh-grade teacher in Huron was arrested Thursday for possession of marijuana and "disseminating material harmful to minors," according to the South Dakota Attorney General's office. Thomas Mark Wendelgass, 30, a geography teacher in his second year with the Huron School District, is suspended with pay and barred from school grounds and any contact with students until the matter is resolved, the school district said.

Wagoner police arrested a woman they said was intoxicated and not wearing any pants at Wagoner High School on Monday. The woman, Lorie Hill, was a newly hired teacher for Wagoner Public Schools. She was found by two other teachers in the classroom on the first day back at school for teachers.

A first-grade teacher at Mittye P. Locke Elementary School in Elfers was arrested Sunday evening on drug-related charges. Laura Santoro, 32, couldn't stay in her lane as she drove on U.S. 19 near Nebraska Avenue just after 6 p.m., according to a Pinellas County Sheriff's report. A deputy pulled her over. Her eyes were bloodshot and watery, the report states, and she failed a field sobriety test. Inside her car, the deputy found a glass pipe with marijuana residue inside and other traces of marijuana in the car.

A local elementary teacher is behind bars this weekend. Frederick Huffman, a teacher at Gilbert Elementary School in Mingo County was arrested Saturday night by Summer County Sheriff's Deputies. Huffman was picked up in a routine traffic stop on the Route 20 bypass near Hinton. He is being charged with felony possession of marijuana.

A teacher at La Grulla High School was arrested Monday by the Starr County Sheriff’s Office at the high school campus, said a Sheriff’s Office investigator. Rene Solis was detained by Rio Grande City CISD police on two harassment warrants from the Starr County Sheriff’s Office, Lt. Carlos Delgado said Wednesday afternoon. He was also charged with the possession of a controlled substance, Delgado said.
