Two New York City lawyers pled guilty in a Brooklyn federal court Wednesday morning to one charge relating to the firebombing of a police vehicle during the George Floyd riots.
Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman each pled guilty to one count of possessing or making a destructive device, a charge carrying as much as 10 years in prison under a terrorism sentencing enhancement. U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan will determine the length of the prison term, which could run much shorter than 10 years, at a sentencing proceeding in February 2022...
Mattis and Rahman made short statements Wednesday morning confessing and expressing regret for their actions. Following the allocution, prosecutors read direct messages the pair traded, meaning to underscore that their acts were planned...
"These defendants abdicated their responsibilities as attorneys," prosecutors wrote in a court filing that advocated for pre-trial detention. "Instead of using their privileged positions to change society lawfully, they used a Molotov cocktail and sought to incite others to adopt their violent ways. They hid under the cloak of peaceful protests and attacked the institutions and individuals who keep them safe and protect their constitutional rights."

Black Lives Matter protesters have gathered outside the 46 Precinct police station in the Bronx, New York, multiple days this week after Mike Rosado, 24, was shot dead by off-duty NYPD officers.
On Friday, police say one of those demonstrators picked up a red gas can, walked over to a parked police van, which had officers inside, and began pouring it over the vehicle.
Police bodycam shows the terrifying moment the liquid, which officers believed to be gasoline, was dumped over the roof and windows at 10.32pm. The video clip then ends and the NYPD told the New York Post that the van drove away before it could be lit on fire. They added that the protester could face state and federal charges for his alleged actions.

At least three federal officers in Portland may not recover their vision after earlier this week demonstrators, who have shown up in crowds of over 1,000 for more than 50 consecutive nights, shined lasers in their eyes and threw fireworks at a federal courthouse, officials said.
During Monday night's confrontation, one person also threatened to cut off the water supply to federal officers inside the building.

An upstate woman and two Brooklyn lawyers were indicted Friday on federal explosives and arson charges for allegedly tossing Molotov cocktails at NYPD vehicles during George Floyd protests in New York City.
Samantha Shader, 27, of Catskill, is accused of hurling the makeshift explosive at an NYPD vehicle occupied by four police officers on early Saturday morning, May 30.
Prosecutors allege Shader bit one of the officer’s legs when she was being taken into custody.
Around the same time, Brooklyn lawyers Urooj Rahman, 31, and Colinford Mattis, 32, were accused of tossing their own Molotov cocktail at an unoccupied police vehicle in Brooklyn during a separate attack.

A Florida police officer passed away over the weekend from injuries he sustained after he tried to apprehend an illegal alien who allegedly shot him in the head last week. "It is with a heavy heart that we inform our community that Fort Myers Police Officer Adam Jobbers-Miller has passed away," police spokesman Mitch Haley said in a statement on Saturday.
Officials said Jobbers-Miller was shot by Haitian national Wisner Desmaret on July 21 while he was responding to an alleged assault and theft at a gas station. Once police arrived at the gas station, Desmaret opened fire, hitting Jobbers-Miller in the head.

An illegal alien from Haiti has been accused of shooting a Florida police officer in the head, leaving him in critical condition.
Wisner Desmaret, a 29-year-old illegal alien from Haiti, is facing eight felonies including attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly shot and nearly killed Fort Meyers Officer Adam Jobbers-MIller in a standoff with police, according to FOX 4 Now.
When police intervened to break up a fight between the illegal alien and a group of men at a gas station, Desmaret began shooting at police, hitting and critically injuring Jobbers-Miller.

Other officers responded and found a group of 25 to 30 gathered in the intersection, setting up fencing and putting up caution tape. They painted "F--- The Pigs" on the street and on a nearby building.

Portland Police Chief Mike Marshman said today that riot cops pushed antifascist and anarchist protesters out of downtown parks June 4 after the protesters used slingshots to launch balloons filled with urine, feces and unknown chemicals into police ranks.
Marshman also told Mayor Ted Wheeler in an open letter that much of the smoke seen as officers cleared Chapman Square wasn't released by police but by the left-wing protesters themselves. He says protesters "may have been using 'gopher gassers,' small rodent poison gas devices."

Angry anti-Donald Trump protesters have chanted 'kill the police' at officers while throwing bottles and rocks at them during demonstrations against the President-elect for a fourth-consecutive night across the country. At least seven people were arrested in Indianapolis on Saturday night, with more than 500 protesters clashing with police in the city, and cops blamed 'out-of-town instigators' for causing some of the trouble.

During a protest early Thursday morning in Ferguson, Missouri, shots were fired and two police officers were seriously injured... St. Louis Police Chief Belmar spoke to the press shortly after the incident. Christine Byers of the St. Louis Post Dispatch reported on Twitter that one officer was hit in the shoulder, while the other officer was hit in the face. Both officers were conscious but said to have “very serious” injuries.

A man was shot and killed by police after he allegedly tried to run them over with his car in Delaware County Tuesday. The suspect was wanted for terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened to kill police and FBI agents in a video posted on YouTube. The man then allegedly tried to run over other officers with his vehicle. The officers took out their weapons and opened fire, striking the man several times.

Durham police say a man fired shots at one of their officers Thursday night. A department spokesperson said Officer J.T. West was sitting in his marked patrol car working on a report when he saw two suspicious men coming up from behind his car near an abandoned apartment building.
West got out of his car to speak to the men, but before he could say a word, one of them pulled a handgun from his waistband and fired six shots at the officer. One of the bullets struck the police vehicle...

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - An Occupy Portland protester is accused of assaulting an officer during Wednesday night's march across two Portland bridges. One man is accused of shoving a police sergeant into a moving Trimet bus before running back into the crowd. After the march ended, officers found the suspect and arrested him.
Ramos and Liu were shot and killed on Dec. 20 by 28-year-old Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who left online threats and postings suggesting the assault was in response to the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown.

Cecily McMillan was on Monday afternoon found guilty of deliberately elbowing Officer Grantley Bovell in the face in March 2012. After a trial lasting more than four weeks, the jury of eight women and four men reached their verdict in about three hours. Judge Ronald Zweibel ordered that McMillan, 25, a graduate student at the New School, be detained.

Wagaman is one of 12 protesters who were arrested after a scuffle with police on North Michigan Avenue at Ohio Street that left five officers injured, including the officer Wagaman allegedly hit with the frying pan, authorities said.
Wagaman is charged with aggravated battery to a peace officer, a felony.

On December 2nd at approximately 5:30 pm, Occupy Seattle protesters broke into an empty and locked building located in the 900 Block of East Union Street. The protesters then decided to hold a benefit concert as a fundraiser and allowed people to enter the building.
Third watch East Precinct officers attempted to make contact with the protesters. The protesters closed and locked the door. They then barricaded the door from the inside.
While the officers were at the door, protest members were on the roof and began spitting on them.
