Faking the Right Wing Hate

Naturally there was immediate outrage among local Democrats when the story broke, and Republicans, Conservatives and anyone else opposed to Barack Obama's health care scheme were blamed and condemned for it.

Police say liberal student activist threatened herself with rape in Facebook hoax, framed conservatives: Before the post was removed, Lanker-Simons commented on it and on her own blog, calling it “disgusting, misogynistic, and apparently something the admins of this page think is a perfectly acceptable sentiment.” She also encouraged the poster to seek help at the UW Counseling service and ends with the advice: “Instead of focusing on how angry and turned on me ‘running my mouth’ makes you, perhaps you should listen instead. You might learn something.” Go To Site

"It is with sadness that tonight I inform you that my Air America colleague Randi Rhodes was assaulted last night while walking her dog near her New York City home. ...this does not appear to me to be a standard grab the money and run mugging. Is this an attempt by the right wing hate machine to silence one of our own? Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we're winning? Are they trying to silence [and] intimidate us?" Go To Site

However, when police investigated the incident, they quickly determined that Lanker-Simons posted the message on her computer while it was in her possession. Police say this ham-handed obstruction of the investigation led to the charge against her. Go To Site

Tennessee’s now-former vaccine chief Michelle Fiscus claims she ran afoul of Republican state officials by urging teens as young as 14 to get vaccinated without parental consent.

In the brouhaha leading up to her eventual firing for “poor interpersonal communication skills, ineffective management and attempting to steer state money to a nonprofit she founded,” Fiscus claimed to have received a dog muzzle from Amazon.

She claims to have taken it as a message that she shut up about vaccinations. It has now been revealed by the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security who investigated the incident that Fiscus sent the muzzle to herself via a secondary Amazon account using her personal American Express card.

Anyway, our interest in Randi Rhodes is focused on what happened to her on Sunday, October 14, 2007, when she somehow lost some teeth and Air America immediately announced – on air – that she was the victim of a hate crime by rightwingers who mugged her in front of her New York apartment in a dastardly attempt to silence her political commentary... The explanation for why Randi was not forthcoming with the truth may lie in an anonymous witness's report on the website Gawker. Turns out that Randi may have drunk a few too many Bloody Marys at an Irish bar, and got so s---faced that she fell flat on her face when she tried to leave.

Contrary to reports that a coffin was placed on Rep. Russ Carnahan’s (D-Mo.) lawn on Mar. 21 while the House voted on the health care bill, the casket was never put on his property and was not used to signify a threat against him, according to the tea party activists who used it. The coffin, in fact, was used as a prop at a prayer vigil on Mar. 21 to symbolize the “loss of freedom and the loss of lives due to government medical rationing,” said the activists. Further, the coffin, made of wood and stained a medium brown, was always in the possession of Bill Hennessy, a member of the St. Louis Tea Party Patriots, and is in his possession now in his garage.

Obergruppenkommander Charles Speaks: Hot Air Racist, Fascist; Must Be Purged Apparently CJ's moderator Kilgore Trout went over there last night and started posting racist stuff. To see, he said, if it would be cleaned up. It wasn't. Because both Allah and Ed were asleep. It being the middle of the night. Actually, it's only arguably racist if you yourself believe that wookies = black people, which Kilgore Trout does. So he spammed the threads with this, and it wasn't cleaned up to until the AM. Obergruppenkommander Charles' conclusion? They're racists.

The discovery of the body of Bill Sparkman, 51, a substitute teacher and a field worker for the bureau, comes at a time when talk media, tea parties and white-hot town-hall meetings have fanned antigovernment sentiment. Speculation has run rampant that the Sparkman case may be related to the vitriol.
