A longtime Democratic operative in New Jersey pled guilty Tuesday to a murder-for-hire plot to kill a former state senator’s son.
Sean Caddle and Bomani Africa, one of the men hired by Caddle, both pled guilty to conspiring to commit murder-for-hire, according to the Associated Press (AP).
Caddle allegedly hired George Bratsenis in April 2014 to kill Michael Galdieri, AP reported. Both Bratsenis and Africa allegedly killed Galdieri the following month and set his apartment on fire.

An Indiana councilman facing murder and federal drug charges was re-elected Tuesday after running unopposed. East Chicago 3rd District Councilman Robert “Coop” Battle, a Democrat, spent Election Day in the Lake County Jail pending a murder charge for the Oct. 12 shooting death of Reimundo Camarillo Jr., the Munster Times reported. He also faces a federal drug charge after police say they found more than 73 pounds of marijuana and more than $100,000 cash during a Porter County traffic stop, the Times reported. Mr. Battle’s attorney, John Cantrell, said he plans to keep his client informed about council business while he is in jail.

A former Falls Church Democratic Party chairman, charged with molesting two young girls, allegedly talked about hiring a hit man to kill the girls before they could be witnesses at his trial. An inmate who was incarcerated with Michael Gardner told authorities about Gardner’s interest in hiring a hit man, prosecutor Nicole Wittmann said. Wittmann said that, according to the inmate, Gardner asked the inmate to help him hire someone to kill the two girls before his trial, which is scheduled for March 4.

A California lawmaker, State Senator Ben Hueso, D-San Diego, was observed driving the wrong way down a one-way street in downtown Sacramento early Friday morning, leading to his arrest for driving under the influence. CHP tells FOX40 officers noticed the wrong-way driver on 15th Street near X Street around 2:30 Friday morning... Jail logs from Sacramento County list Hueso as being arrested for allegations of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a B.A. of .08 percent or more. His bail is set at $1,482 according to jail records. He was booked into the jail around 3:30 a.m.

A scholarly study newly released in The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science has revealed that most convicts in jail register as Democrats. The study stated, “Democrats would benefit from additional ex-felon participation.” The professors who authored the study came from the University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University. The study found that felons registered Democratic over Republican by a six-to-one margin in some states, including New York, where 61.5% are Democrats and only 9% GOP. Another fact discovered was that 73% of the felons who would vote would vote Democrat.

The measure would create a uniform federal standard applicable to ex-felons who are no longer in prison... Rep. Chicago Alderman Joe Moore was to have received an award for "political reform" at the White House. Moore, however, was a no-show in D.C. because on that same day he admitted that he had been interviewed by the FBI in an investigation into political corruption. Moore was to have been honored as a "a pioneer for political reform, governmental transparency and democratic governance" until the charges against him became known in Washington. A veteran Illinois state senator charged with trying to board a flight with a gun and ammunition in a carry-on bag was released on bail Thursday. A Cook County judge set bond at $25,000 for state Sen. Donne Trotter, who recently announced he was running for Jesse Jackson's old seat in Congress. Trotter was released from custody a short time later. The Chicago Democrat refused to answer reporters' questions before walking away from the courthouse. The 62-year-old father of four was charged with a Class 4 felony, which carries a sentence of one to three years in prison if he is convicted. After being stopped at O'Hare, Trotter told officers he uses the .25-caliber Beretta handgun for his job with a security company.

ONEIDA COUNTY — Edward Revere, a former Oneida County legislator, has been arrested by U.S. Marshals in the state of Georgia, County District Attorney Scott McNamara said. Revere represented parts of New Hartford and nearby towns in the late 1990s. A Democrat, he was knocked out by Republican Brian Miller in 1999. The arrest was made July 16 in Cherokee County, Ga., on two DWI-related warrants out of Oneida County.

Edward Leon Rhoudes, 45, was free on $2,500 bond Tuesday after his arrest on Friday on a misdemeanor assault charge and court records that News 10 obtained Tuesday show it’s not his first brush with the law.
