Sex crimes in Loudoun County Public Schools gained national attention last month when the Daily Wire reported on that 15-year-old’s two sexual assault cases. In May, the student raped a female peer in a bathroom.
District superintendent Scott Ziegler claimed he was not aware of any sexual assault allegations during a June school board meeting, but internal emails showed that he knew of the rape the day it occurred.

They were top athletes and honor-roll students, children struggling to read and teenagers seeking guidance.
But then they became prey, among the many students raped or sexually abused during the last decade by trusted adults working in the Chicago Public Schools as district officials repeated obvious child-protection mistakes.
Their lives were upended, their futures clouded and their pain unacknowledged as a districtwide problem was kept under wraps. A Tribune analysis indicates that hundreds of students were harmed.

"[T]hink the Catholic Church has a problem?" she said. "The physical sexual abuse of students in schools is likely more than 100 times the abuse by priests."
So, in order to better protect children, did media outlets start hounding the worse menace of the school systems, with headlines about a "Nationwide Teacher Molestation Cover-up" and by asking "Are Ed Schools Producing Pedophiles?"
No, they didn't. That treatment was reserved for the Catholic Church, while the greater problem in the schools was ignored altogether.

Democrats in the Virginia General Assembly voted for — and Governor Ralph Northam signed — a law allowing schools to refrain from reporting instances of sexual battery, stalking, violation of a protective order, and violent threats occurring on school property in 2020.
§ 22.1-279.3:1 of Virginia code had required that these, among a number of other major crimes, be reported to law enforcement if they occurred on campus. Democrats insisted that misdemeanors be extirpated from reporting requirements in House Bill 257, replacing the word “criminal” with “felony” in the code...
The contentious back-and-forth has taken on new relevance a year and a half later, after a bombshell story from the Daily Wire alleged that Loudoun County Public Schools sought to conceal the rape of a 15-year-old female student by a male student wearing a skirt in the girls’ bathroom.

An HIV-positive man who worked at a middle school allegedly sexually assaulted more than 40 children, intentionally trying to transfer the virus to five of his victims, officials said Monday. Carlos Deangelo Bell, a 30-year-old man from Waldorf, Maryland, who worked as a teacher’s aide and track coach, was arrested in July and was believed to have victimized 24 underage children at that point.
Despite being HIV-positive, he did not use any protection while assaulting his victims, CBS News reports. He is being charged with “five counts of attempting to transfer the virus,” according to Charles County State’s Attorney Tony Covington.

A new study from the Freedom Foundation in Washington state has uncovered several former teachers who have had their teaching licenses revoked due to things such as child molestation and other sexual abuses are still receiving their pensions. A total of 22 teachers have hauled in over $5.1 Million in “retirement” during and after their time behind bars.

A Perry Hall High School student's father struck his daughter's teacher with a baseball bat after the family found "several dozen" text messages between the male instructor and 15-year-old girl, police said. Police said the incident happened after the teacher showed up at the girl's family's home... Police said the teacher sustained minor injuries but did not press charges.
In accordance with a requirement of President Bush's No Child Left Behind Act, in 2002 the Department of Education carried out a study of sexual abuse in the school system. Hofstra University researcher Charol Shakeshaft looked into the problem, and the first thing that came to her mind when Education Week reported on the study were the daily headlines about the Catholic Church. A Merced County judge on Monday ordered a bail review for a high school teacher and former Merced resident charged with having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student. Jeremy Ryan Monn, 31, has pleaded not guilty to more than a dozen sex crime charges, including committing lewd and lascivious acts with a minor, oral copulation and unlawful sexual intercourse, according to Merced Superior Court records.

A Spartanburg County high school teacher accused of having an inappropriate relationship with his student was arrested Wednesday. Lt. Kevin Bobo sent out a release saying that Jonathan Neil Dover was allowed to resign on Dec. 8 after an investigation by school officials into allegations that Dover had a relationship with a 16-year-old girl who was a student in his American government class at Broome High School.

The principal of McIntosh County Academy, along with the superintendent and assistant superintendent of schools failed to report sexual abuse of a student by high teacher Lori Quigley, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Quigley was arrested last month on three counts of sexual assault by a person in supervisory or discipline authority.

A South Carolina teacher who coaches the school football team was arrested in an undercover prostitution sting. Jamie Mathew Crisp was collared Friday in Greenville and charged with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, FOX Carolina reports.

Rocklin Unified School District officials chose not to tell parents when a school bus driver was arrested on suspicion of molesting a child. Eric Deason, 50, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly violently sexually assaulting a young child, with charges of lewd acts with a child and sodomy pending. But most parents didn’t have any idea that before he was placed behind bars, Deason drove children as a bus driver for the school district.

A second student has come forward, accusing a local high school teacher of sexual assault. The 16-year-old victim told police that while at Perry Traditional Academy, teacher Michael White, 29, made her perform lap dances for the male students in his informational technology class. The victim also says White kissed her on the lips while in the classroom.

A Palm Springs middle school teacher is behind bars facing six different charges, including trying to bribe a cop with sex. Fifty-three-year-old Mary Maloney is a 7th grade math teacher at Palm Springs Middle School. Greenacres police say she was involved in a hit and run crash Sunday night while driving with a suspended license. Wine was found in her van. She refused a breathalyzer test, and, police say, Maloney offered sexual favors to the arresting officer.

There was enough evidence to arrest an Opelousas Junior High School teacher accused of an inappropriate sexual relationship with a then-18-year-old student, Judge Alonzo Harris ruled Thursday, but he agreed that the case is complicated. "The arguments are interesting on both sides, but we will go forward with that in trial," Harris said during a pretrial hearing on Thursday. Green, of 203 Henry Drive, Opelousas, was arrested in March and charged with prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student.

ONTARIO - Five teachers in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District have been disciplined for misconduct since the 2006-07 academic year, including two who were accused of having a sexual relationship with a student. Names of the teachers were redacted in records supplied to the Daily Bulletin by the district, but in one case the records matched those of Thomas Mazur, an orchestra teacher, who was convicted of the charges. The second teacher was charged with a crime, but the newspaper was not able to determine the outcome of that case.
