  In one recent case, a DHS staffer found a burned and decapitated animal carcass left on their front porch, an agency official confirmed to Newsweek. Federal authorities have arrested a man in Los Angeles for threatening Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission Ajit Pai’s family.

Markara Man, 33, was angry at Pai for repealing the Barack Obama administration's net neutrality regulations and sent threats in order to "scare" him, according to a Justice Department press release. Man is alleged to have included a framed picture of Pai’s family in one email, and in another he listed the locations of preschools in Arlington, Va., where Pai lives.

"I will find and kill your children," Man allegedly wrote.

Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul was assaulted at his Bowling Green home on Friday afternoon, according to local news reports... Rene Albert Boucher, 59, was arrested and charged with one count of assault in the fourth degree. Paul, a Republican, suffered minor injuries in the attack...

  A Facebook account that appears to be maintained by Boucher contains numerous anti-Donald Trump postings. On May 17, Boucher posted, “May Robert Mueller fry Trump’s gonads,” a reference to the former FBI director’s investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government.

The names and addresses of about 170,000 handgun permit holders in Connecticut, now kept confidential by law, could be made public under a proposed bill that pits gun owners against would-be reformers in the aftermath of the Dec. 14 Newtown school massacre. The bill, introduced by Rep. Stephen D. Dargan, D-West Haven, co-chairman of the legislature's public safety committee, would make public the names and addresses of permit holders under Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act — and would reverse lawmakers' decision to protect that personal information from disclosure nearly two decades ago.

An animal rights activist, Camille Marino, has pleaded guilty to trespass and unlawful posting of a message with aggravating circumstances, The Detroit Free Press reported. Marino was arrested in May when she chained herself to the doors of the library at Wayne State University. She had been posting messages online in which she said that a Wayne State researcher who works with animals -- whom she named, listing his home and office addresses and phone numbers -- should be tortured.
