California Gov. Gavin Newsom is facing new criticism for shedding his face mask in public, rekindling a politically sensitive issue that has shadowed the Democratic governor since he was caught without a face covering at a 2020 party that defied his own pandemic safety orders.

  The latest scrutiny came after basketball legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson tweeted a photo of himself with the governor at the NFC championship game Sunday at SoFi Stadium near Los Angeles — both beaming smiles without masks.

  In 2020, Newsom quickly apologized after it was disclosed he attended the birthday party — he called it a “bad mistake”— after lecturing state residents to spurn social gatherings and stay home as the pandemic raged. At the time, photographs showed Newsom and his wife, without masks, at a dinner table with friends and lobbyists.

President Biden and first lady Jill Biden flouted Washington, DC’s indoor mask mandate Saturday night when they were filmed walking maskless through a high-end Italian restaurant...

  The Bidens were caught on camera leaving Fiola Mare in Georgetown with their masked-up Secret Service agents in tow, according to videos posted on social media.

  Biden could be seen carrying his mask in both hands as he left the pricey seafood establishment overlooking the Potomac River. His wife did not appear to be carrying her mask as she left.

  Wearing masks inside is mandatory in DC after Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser reinstated an indoor mask mandate in July when the Delta variant of the coronavirus started to surge.

A Democratic congressman best known for comparing former president Donald Trump to 9/11 architect Osama bin Laden was spotted without a protective face mask at one of the busiest airports in the United States.

  Photos obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show Rep. Sean Casten (D., Ill.) chatting with a masked companion at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago...

  An airport source told the Free Beacon the amount of time Casten spent without a mask far exceeded the "brief period" allowed under CDC guidelines. Either way, scientific experts have warned that taking your mask off at any point while traveling is potentially dangerous, even for vaccinated individuals.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) thinks masks only need to be worn if someone is there to catch you without one, according to remarks caught on video during a Detroit community event.

  The "Squad" member told attendees at the event that she only wore a mask because a "Republican tracker" was filming her...

  "Oh, no, oh, not you!" Tlaib said as she pulled her mask away from her face. "No, no, no—I'm just wearing it because I've got a Republican tracker here."

  Just weeks before the event, the "Squad" member faced criticism when she danced maskless at a crowded, indoor wedding in Dearborn, Mich. The video surfaced on the same day Tlaib slammed Sen. Rand Paul (R., Ky.) for urging his followers to "resist" Centers for Disease Control and Prevention masking guidelines.

John Kerry, the nation's special climate envoy, has been caught with his mask down.

  The former Massachusetts senator and Democratic presidential nominee was seen without a mask while reading on an American Airlines Boston-to-DC flight Wednesday in violation of a host of mask mandates from the CDC to his boss, President Biden.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is just the latest Democrat facing backlash for flouting social distancing as she urges the public to follow her state's coronavirus guidelines.

  Whitmer apologized Sunday after a photo emerged that appeared to show her disregarding social distancing guidelines at a bar. The photo showed the governor with a large group at The Landshark Bar & Grill in East Lansing, Mich. Whitmer appeared to be with a dozen people with tables pushed together although the state still requires social distancing at restaurants, with no more than six people at tables.

  Ms Pelosi was also seen with a face mask around her neck rather than over her mouth. She has criticised President Donald Trump for not wearing a mask.

  The footage obtained by Fox News showed the House of Representatives speaker inside the premises of eSalon SF on Monday. A stylist, who was wearing a mask, was shown following her.

  Mrs Pelosi - who always wears masks in public - often admonishes Republicans to "listen to the science" on the pandemic.

  New fallout on Wednesday evening over the two photos obtained exclusively by FOX 11 Tuesday night showing Governor Gavin Newsom dining at the luxurious French Laundry restaurant in Napa for the birthday dinner of well-known lobbyist Jason Kinney.

  Not only do they call into question Governor Newsom's explanation that the dinner was outside they also reveal that two high-level members of the California Medical Association were there at the dinner with the governor and that’s sparking outrage.

Last week, Mayor Muriel Bowser imposed a new mask mandate in Washington, D.C. Beginning at 5 a.m. on July 31, both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated would have to wear masks indoors...

  The very night the mandate went into effect, Bowser officiated at an outdoor wedding and then attended the indoor reception that followed. Most of the guests wore no masks. Bowser herself wore no mask. No one seemed bothered by the mask mandate.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed has sparked outrage after she was spotted partying maskless at a local night club with one of the Black Lives Matter co-founders in defiance of her own rules.

  Breed mandated last month that residents need to wear masks indoors regardless of their vaccination status, and the state's health department ordered that people dining and taking part in other indoor activities need to show proof of vaccination.

  But Breed disregarded her own rule and was seen partying at the Black Cat jazz nightclub along with BLM co-founder Alicia Garza on September 16. She was spotted taking photos and dancing - with not one mask in sight.

San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo apologized Tuesday after attending a Thanksgiving meal in violation of state COVID-19 rules limiting the number of people and households at private gatherings.

  In a written statement, Liccardo confirmed he and his wife were at his parents’ home Thanksgiving for an outdoor dinner on their patio where eight people from five different households were in attendance...

  Liccardo went on to say, “I understand my obligation as a public official to provide exemplary compliance with the public health orders, and certainly not to ignore them. I commit to do better.”
