Prosecutors say he built firebombs that started the 2001 fire at the university's Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle. Members of the Earth Liberation Front mistakenly thought a researcher was genetically altering poplar trees. The fire caused $6 million damaged and destroyed the work of several UW researchers.

The 35-year-old violin teacher admits that she served as a lookout during an arson attack that destroyed a University of Washington research center back in 2001. In addition to being a lookout, she said a partner built the incendiary bombs for the arson in her Olympia, Washington home.

DETROIT — A Detroit woman pleaded guilty Thursday to setting a New Year's Eve 1999 fire at Michigan State University, an act of eco-terrorism, and also admitted roles in 12 other incidents.
