“Steven Crowder, a Fox News contributor who hosted part of Saturday’s activities at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference, made a questionable remark about actress and possible Kentucky Senate candidate Ashley Judd,” a post at the site described it, omitting both the factual context and the first part of the joke, quoting only Crowder’s follow-on comment: “What is this obsession with Ashley Judd and rape? It’s pretty unnerving.”

The Coalition to Stop Gun Violence targeted Georgia Rep. John Barrow, dusting off and re-airing parts of a 2012 campaign ad that shows Barrow holding up his family's guns. The video shows the congressman saying: "I'm John Barrow, and long before I was born, my grandfather used this little Smith & Wesson here." The video, though, left out the last part of that sentence, which was "to help stop a lynching."... Likewise, the video showed Barrow holding up a rifle and saying: "And for as long as I can remember, my father always had this rifle real handy." The video cut the quote before he concluded, "just to keep us safe."

Ed Schultz used a deceptive edit to misinform his audience about the content of Gov. Rick Perry's speech in Iowa yesterday. Schultz claimed that Gov. Perry was calling President Obama a "black cloud hanging over America" when in fact, the governor was talking about the national debt.

The Washington Post reported: The former U.S. education secretary-turned-talk show host said Wednesday that "if you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose -- you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down." Bennett quickly added that such an idea would be "an impossible, ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do." But, he said, "your crime rate would go down." But Bennett said that he was talking about "bad arguments in regard to abortion." Right after saying, as the Post reported, that the "crime rate would go down," he talked about "these far-out, these far-reaching, extensive extrapolations."
