Yet even as he failed to persuade himself he was Irish, McKibben continued to enthusiastically support every leftist-approved victim group he could find. Nonetheless, something was missing. None of these causes seemed truly his own. When McKibben almost singlehandedly turned global warming into a public issue in 1989, his problem was solved. Now everyone could be a victim. -Stanley Kurtz, National Review Go To Site

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio:

Therapy To Cope With Donald Trump Win.

Taken literally (and we should), the mayor is telling citizens of New York City that they should indulge any potential weakness inside them that makes them believe they can't deal with the results of American democracy when the results don't go their way - that they're easily injured, inherently weak and don't have the personal fortitude to keep fighting for what they believe in.

See, there are politicians who will use any occasion to coax people into dependency on the state - whether for food, shelter, the raising of their children or hand-holding - when anything in life doesn't go their way.

Understanding The Liberal Mindset...

Donald Trump's views and politics offend Kathy Griffin.

From the point-of-view of a victim mentality, merely having to live on the same planet with people whose views offend you is an assault.

If oppression is the currency of social advantage, there will never be enough oppression to go around.

Self Declared Victims...

Again, forget the politics. It's not who they blame but the fact that they must blame. Without blaming, they're nothing. That's the definition of a loser.

Like a lot of people, I used to dislike the word "loser". But then I came to understand that a loser is not someone who loses or fails honestly. Some of the greatest achievers have lost.

A loser is someone who thinks of him or herself as a victim. A loser is an emotional abuser who blames others for pushing back when you spit on them.

Victimhood: A Source Of Comfort And Even Belonging...

What causes a person to embrace the victimhood mindset? What is called anxious attachment, stemming from doubts about one’s social value. The question is why black people would not have doubts about their social value given our history. The Elect cannot claim I am just making that up, as they found their whole approach to black people on the very idea that the society is built upon devaluing us socially.

Importantly, psychologists specify that the victimhood mindset need not come from actual victimhood: trauma may, but may not create the mindset, and the mindset may, but may not come from trauma. Rather, one can be socialized into embracing the victimhood mindset because, on a day to day level, it can function as a source of comfort and even belonging.

"The grand fallacy of the political left is that evil is localized in some set of 'oppressors' from whom we can be 'liberated.'

That is also its great attraction, for it allows people to attribute their dissatisfactions to other people."
